Upper Belvedere Palace
Baroque palace and 800 years of art history - with masterpieces by Klimt, Schiele, Funke, Messerschmidt, and van Gogh.
The Upper Belvedere was built between 1717 and 1723 according to plans by Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt. During Prince Eugen's lifetime it was used purely for representative purposes. After the prince's death, the palace with the beautiful view became an imperial picture gallery open to the public.
