Happy Thursday!
I am looking for ideas for a WOW opener for an awards dinner. Ideally we would like this to be no more then 5-15 mins. long.
Examples of what we have done in the past:
· Barcelona- we had flamingo dancers come in from all entry points of the room
· During Covid- We had the families record a short video to the award winners
Any and all ideas are welcomed!
Thanks in advance
You can hire a broadway performer to perform - they're surprisingly affordable. Just experienced it myself and it's cool! They're based all over the place, not just in NYC. If you use them, tell Cory I sent you! 😄

I've also done a local high school drum line & dance team which can really WOW people and showcase local talent! You need to find a really solid school band & get in touch with their director. Prob also provide transit and a meal for the kiddos.
I second a local high school marching band & dance team - we did this at a closing dinner in Bulgaria (they played "eye of the tiger") and it was a HUGE HIT with the varied/international audience. Standing ovation for the kids, and high-energy for the rest of the night.
Another vote for local high school performance. We've done that before along with a local dance school for additional dancers -- it was so much fun.
oh yes, the drum line is awesome. did an activation at the ATL airport - the kids were all different ages and the tiny munchkins with the drums were just adorable!
I’m also working on finding bollywood dancers for a client now (it’s aligned with the theme). That could be an amazing perforamce too.
this is an oldie but goodie if it hasn't been done before for your group. You hire acapella singers and they start out as your wait staff and then after the first course is served, they break out singing in unity and they are all spread through out the room.
Any good recs for an experiential portion of an event for vp/c level in NYC in July for roughly 350 people? Think highly elevated, hip, and exclusive.
Hey guys! I’m once again in search of a private dining room for 20 ppl in NYC (Preferably Manhattan). The client is super late with the booking and looking for a trendy, upscalish restaurant (it can be a classic too) to take their clients for a private executive dinner in early December. We have checked the availability and suggested:
-Locanda Verde
-Le Bernardin
-Manhatta
-Don Angie
-Cote
-Gramercy Tavern
-Morandi
-Avra Madison
Open to any ideas and suggestions so thanks in advance! 😊
Hi all! I’m looking for a venue in NYC that will hold up to 250 people theatre style. I did this at spring studios last year which was obviously gorgeous but had to bring in own stage, chairs, etc. Looking for something more turnkey yet still well known. Let me know if you can help! :)
We are planning some private dining events in NYC and I'm curious if there are any hidden gems of event spaces or private dining rooms (Manhattan) that folks would recommend. Dinners will be about 25 people. We did the last one at Little Owl Townhouse and loved it!!
Hey everyone! I'm having the hardest time finding good non-hotel venues in NY for May for ~120 people (meet/feed). Any good and affordable recommendations?
Hi all! Looking for a super high-end restaurant in NYC with a private dining room that can accommodate a dinner for about 20-25 ppl. Something in the world of a new/interesting venue with a celeb chef or Michelin star (think Ci Siamo, less Le Bernadin). Midtown would be ideal but open to other areas of Manhattan.
Hi NYC event peeps, I’m looking for reco’s for a venue to host a one-day conference that can fit 1,000-2,000 attendees for a keynote, and 4 breakout sessions. Ideally in Manhattan. Obviously we’ve looked at usual suspects like Javits, Marquis, Hilton Midtown, Sheraton Times Sq, Manhattan Center, and Lincoln Center. Any other great candidates I’m missing?
I'm looking for a great #NYC (Manhattan) venue for a business conference. The space needs to have: (1) a general session room with stage that can comfortably hold between 200-250 people in classroom- or half-round table format; (2) at least two additional breakout rooms that can hold at least 50 people each in classroom or half-round format, and (3) vendor / sponsor space where they can set up tables and network. The event will be held in late September or early to mid October 2024 for 2 consecutive days (not including a Monday). Might you have an easy way to find options?
Hi colleagues - I'm looking to do a screening for about 150-ish ppl on 11/2 in NYC - in the evening. (This is all last-minute.) I'm looking into a few spaces, but would love to hear from you on what spaces you recommend.
Looking for a venue that can accommodate the following flow:
• A VIP reception (w/ drinks & hors d'oeuvres ) for 40-50 ppl, 40 mins prior to the general call-time
• Screening area would open at the general call-time and wld have drinks and food for the rest of the guests that arrive
• Once we have critical mass in the screening area we'll begin to intro the film and show it
• After the screening well do a talk-back/ Q&A with folx from the film
• Event ends
Thanks all!
