Located in the recently renovated “Boiler Building”, Smack Mellon’s gallery is an especially exciting space with tremendous architectural elements. The 6,000 square foot gallery boasts a ceiling that soars to 35 feet. There are 25 windows on two levels providing beautiful light and a spectacular view of Manhattan and the East River.

Currently (as of May 2022), we require visitors to our programs to be vaccinated and masked, but we do not require this for private events held in our space.

No Parking on premise
It is difficult to find street parking in DUMBO. There are parking garages nearby at 20 Jay St., 100 Jay St., 45 Main St., 85 Adams St.

Availability
Since we are primarily an art gallery, we only rent in between our exhibitions. Included in the rental fee is a membership to Smack Mellon which allows you to rent the gallery for private events. Please visit our membership page for more information about additional membership benefits.
Noise Restrictions
DJs must play at a reasonable volume. Live bands are not permitted. All music must be off by midnight.

Permits and Insurance
Please note that events with over 74 people in the space will require use of an approved floor plan layout, in addition to the $2,000 Temporary Place of Assembly (TPA) fee. There is no required layout for events with less than 74 guests.
