The Players
We deliver an unforgettable experience for our guests. With a wide range of rooms and many dining and beverage options, we provide a unique ambiance for gatherings ranging from intimate dinner parties to whole-house festivities.
The Players is a club of artists and arts lovers. Members are drawn from a wide range of professions, including those with careers on the stage and screen, the visual arts, and music and literature, as well as patrons of the arts. Together, we celebrate the richness of our creative communities with exclusive events and relaxed socializing. Players need not be actors, though performers have been part of our DNA since our founding by the legendary Edwin Booth in 1888. Players were here before Broadway became Broadway, and we were present since the beginning of radio, motion pictures, television, and new media. Our 1847 mansion on Gramercy Park is a treasure of the Gilded Age, and the clubhouse was named a National Historic Landmark in 1963. The Players is the oldest New York City membership club still in its original home. In recent years, the club has experienced its most significant growth in generations, while preserving its tradition of convivial, easygoing friendships among its arts-loving members.
