Inspired by Francatelli's iconic 1846 cookbook, our new restaurant at the Althoff St. James’s Hotel & Club unveils modern interpretations of 19th-century dishes. British Reaturant in the heart of London. Inspired by one of William Drabble's favourite historical Chef's, Charles Elme Francatelli, who in the early 1800s was 'Chief chef of St. James' Club'. Francatelli was a celebrity chef of his day, who left St James Club to be Queen Victoria's chief chef, and authored a cookbook 'The Modern Cook' in 1846 that will inspire the menu of Francatelli's at St James Hotel & Club in 2024. The menu will be rooted in simplicity and British produce punctuated with some show stopping dishes.
