The Berkeley Hotel
After a major reinvention in the 1970’s the Shockoe Slip’s neighborhood, movement provided an idyllic location on the corner of 12th and Cary Streets NW to welcome a boutique-downtown hotel.
Prior to opening our doors in the Historic District of Richmond, architects devoted attention to the era detail of similar surrounding buildings. The inn’s castle-like inspired detail provides a historic element when visiting. Inspired by European style, The Berkeley Hotel now sits along the James River and neighboring cobblestone streets. Named after Virginia’s most historic plantation, owner Mr. Malcom Jamieson, was the hotel's very first guest in August 1988. With Jamieson’s stay began the iconic Richmond charm & boutique experience written in the history of The Berkeley Hotel.
