Hackney Empire

Hackney Empire is a nationally renowned, Grade II* listed, Edwardian music hall. It now operates as a modern-day variety theatre and community centre, presenting an artistic programme that is at all times extraordinary, challenging and profound. For over a century Hackney Empire has platformed and championed variety in all its forms, be it artistically, culturally, politically or socially. The theatre was fully restored in 2003 and is referred to as “a jewel in the crown of London's historic East End” and “one of the most beautiful theatres in the country”. The auditorium can accommodate upwards of 1,200 seated audience members, and over 1,600 standing, making it one of the Capital’s largest and most significant theatrical venues outside of the West End.
