The Albion is a Georgian gem left over from a time when Islington was fields and farmland and where the regulars would take afternoon walks out of the city to visit us. With its wisteria covered façade and log fires, The Albion provides the perfect location to entertain, relax and forget the stresses of modern life, combining a central Islington location, just off Upper Street, with a picturesque walled garden situated within the Barnsbury conservation area. Renowned for delightful rear beer garden, The Albion has become something of an Islington institution. Located on a small road in the heart of residential Barnsbury, this warm and appealing gastropub has been blessed with an impressively faithful Georgian restoration which showcases the place’s rickety floors, nostalgic wood-panelled walls and appealing mixture of varied chairs and tables. The French windows in the restaurant area open onto over 450 square meters of wisteria-filled English country garden – one of the best beer gardens in the area – while the interior is quite something.
