National Palace Museum of Korea
Welcome to the National Palace Museum of Korea, a good companion for understanding the culture and history of the royal family of Joseon and the imperial family of the Korean Empire.
The National Palace Museum of Korea, which took its first step on August 15, 2005, the 60th anniversary of liberation, plans various and timely exhibitions of royal culture through scientific and systematic preservation and restoration of royal relics, which contain the highest level of culture and spirit of the Joseon Dynasty, and continues to expand the collections of the royal family. In addition, it has operated various educational programs on the theme of royal culture and made great efforts to promote exchanges with domestic and foreign royal cultural institutions. Through this, we have been trying to convey the meaning of the dignified royal cultural heritage to the audience and the value of the royal family of the Joseon Dynasty and the Korean Empire. Celebrating the 15th anniversary of the opening of the National Palace Museum of Korea in 2020, we will do our best to further expand opportunities to see, enjoy, and feel the culture of the Joseon royal family and the imperial family of the Korean Empire, so that we can take one step closer to the country that King Sejong dreamed of, and the country of cultural revival that King Jeongjo dreamed of. We will leap forward to become a friendly museum created with the Digital New Deal, a safe and pleasant museum to visit, a warm museum that realizes social values, and a museum that shares the results of research on royal culture and expertise.
