What do you think of when you think of Afghanistan? Of heavily laden caravans, wandering desert tribes and colorful nomad tents? A shepherd, a “Chopan”? The scent of coriander, saffron and cardamom? Afghanistan, the small country, is framed by Pakistan, Tajikistan, Iran, Turmenistan, China and Uzbekistan. It is a mosaic of over 40 languages ​​and numerous ethnic groups and tribes. This diversity is reflected in the kitchen. The Chopan, as one of the first Afghan restaurants in Munich since 1994, tries to capture this diversity in its menu.
