Restaurant Mabou, in the heart of Istanbul, is a restaurant that tries to unite these two contradictory worlds and preserve and develop old values.
We, the team of Restaurant Mabou, would like to introduce ourselves. We are a Mediterranean restaurant in Beyoğlu / Asmalı Mescit. The owner and Chef is a German chef living in Istanbul. When Cem Ekşi, who came to Istanbul to work after completing his apprenticeship at the famous Hotel Bareiss in Baierbronn, met the love of his life in Istanbul, he decided to carry his career and love of cuisine to this city. The idea behind this restaurant is to offer an “honest” restaurant to Istanbul gastronomy. He thinks that a huge gap has opened up in the gastronomy world of Istanbul in the last 10 years, thanks to the trendy Fine Dining cuisine and the exaggerated presentation of the culinary profession by the media. During his apprenticeship, Chef Cem Eksi had the opportunity to create minimalist plates with Michelin-starred Chefs in a Fine Dining environment, and he had to cook 300 liters of beans for 900 people with old masters.
