In 1985 the ownership of the Palace was transferred to the Community of Madrid, which undertook a comprehensive reform of the building. Since then, it has established itself as the reference venue both in the city of Madrid and at a national level as far as holding events is concerned. Since January 1, 2014, after its designation as the winner of the public tender called by the Madrid Sports Institute, Impulsa Eventos e Instalaciones SA is the management company of the Palace. Said award was made for a period of 10 years, until December 31, 2023, extendable for five more years.
