The Hirschsprung Collection is a state museum with an independent board. Founded in 1911 by Heinrich Hirschsprung and his wife Pauline, the museum houses Danish art from the 19th and early 20th centuries. It features major works by renowned artists such as CW Eckersberg, Christen Købke, PS Krøyer, Anna Ancher, and Vilhelm Hammershøi. The collection also includes furniture, objects owned by artists, statuettes, and an extensive archive of documents and artist letters.
