Bioparco di Roma
The Bioparco is the ideal location for public and private companies, associations, foundations, which need a private space in which to organize their conventions, conferences, seminars, exhibitions.
The Zoological Garden of Rome was inaugurated over 100 years ago, on January 5, 1911, by the architect Carl Hagenbeck. He revolutionized the concept of zoos by replacing cages with ditches. At the time, zoos had a purely recreational purpose, the only goal being the enjoyment of the public through the display of rare and exotic animals. In 1935, the zoological garden of Rome was enlarged by the architect Raffaele De Vico. In that year it reached its current surface area of 17 hectares which also included a reptile house and a large aviary with a geodesic structure, unique in Europe. The zoo of Rome soon became one of the most important in Europe surpassing even those of Paris and Berlin built with old systems in beauty. However, over time, also as a result of the war events, the management of the zoo became very precarious and its decline more and more evident.
