The Philharmonic Dining Rooms
Dazzling and flamboyant, our pub has its own place in history as 'the most ornate pub in England'. With the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra Choir and Society so close, we have long been a favourite with concert-goers and performers alike.
What better way to spend those missed occasions than in the backdrop of our historical pub? From corporate events, or after work socials, to that special family occasion, we’ve got you covered at The Philharmonic Dining Rooms. We also offer a variety of menus, crafted by our chefs, which can be tailored to suit your specific requirements and dietary needs. Built between 1898 and 1900, our flamboyant pub is a dazzling showpiece built in the style of a gentleman’s club. Constructed for the brewer Robert Cain, the building was designed by local architect Walter Thomas, working with craftsmen from the School of Architecture and Applied Arts at what is now the University of Liverpool. Outside the pub, our stunning metal gates are amongst the finest Art Nouveau work in Britain – and the interior is just as impressive: spread over five floors, each of our rooms is beautifully decorated with a musical theme.
At The Philharmonic Dining Rooms we’re proud pie connoisseurs, and you can be sure that you’ll enjoy our delicious pies, served under pastry or mash. Why not complement your traditional British pie with a perfectly poured cask ale, a glass of fine wine, or even a taste from our extensive whisky and gin collections.
