The 800 years are palpable as nature blends with architecture; exquisite simplicity and almost forgotten treasures accompany the arrival. Art Nouveau balconies poke their heads out from the ochre-coloured, ivy-covered facade. The path to the rooms and suites leads up ancient stone stairs and wide terrazzo corridors. High ceilings are imaginatively decorated with stucco. It nods to the turn of the century and cleverly plays with contemporary interiors and noble furnishings.
