Tucked behind the lobby of its namesake hotel, Rivertown Tavern welcomes guests and locals alike.
Acknowledging its role as a gathering place for longtime residents, newer arrivals, and the tourists who have transformed Hudson into a regional hub for art and dining, the Workstead-designed interior appeals to a wide cross-section of users. This modern take on tavern culture is walled in painted panels that ascend to a sparingly light-studded cedar ceiling. The bronze-topped bar, backed by cupboards in painted mahogany and wicker, overlooks the space. The room is bookended by waxed canvas banquettes, and it is further anchored by corner tables fabricated of oak and zinc. Wide-plank oak flooring flows seamlessly between vignettes. As with the wider Rivertown Lodge commission, Workstead collaborated with local and regional craftspeople on nearly every aspect of the construction.
