The Counter
The Counter’s kitchen is set up in the middle of an open counter — just like in simpler times when communities used to crowd around open fires to fulfil two of our most instinctive needs: to eat, and to socialize.
Taking its distinct taste inspirations mainly from the Southeastern Anatolia Region, The Counter enriches its presentation and atmosphere with the cultural heritage of the Balkans. Fire, both literally and figuratively, is at the heart of what we do here. Its igniting power fuels our passion and nurtures us with inspiration. With this passion, The Counter seeks and finds the best artisans, be it butchers, blacksmiths, or potters, who are amorously committed to their crafts. It then brings the best of these crafts and techniques from their local ateliers to The Counter’s London location. The Counter’s kitchen is set up in the middle of an open counter, which the restaurant is named after, and where the guests are always welcome to gather around — just like in simpler times when communities used to crowd around open fires to fulfil two of our most instinctive needs: to eat, and to socialize.
