About

Waterfall provides resources for artist’s creativity and careers, as well as formation of patronage. As part of Waterfall’s continuous commitment to the public, we have designed a public art campaign by creating educational content focused on spirit, art, and culture for common good. Culture should be nurtured by caring, authenticity, unity, honor, presence and wisdom. These elements of character are all part of leadership at Waterfall. The Waterfall Mansion & Gallery was launched out of a surprising series of events. Initially, Kate Shin, a real estate private equity investor saw the Upper East Side property as a good investment. The original four story carriage house was once home to famed textile designers, D.D. and Leslie Tillett. Determined to preserve its artist heritage, Kate partnered with world-renowned architect, Toshiko Mori who lovingly restored the property into a New York landmark. Now a 7 story architectural masterpiece blends an exclusive by-appointment-only art gallery with a private residence. While waiting to sell to the highest bidder, Kate and her team organized exhibitions and special events. These new experiences introduced Kate to the art world and the artiest community, she dropped her plans to sell the property and instead launched the Waterfall Gallery.
