In 1981, Redhook founders, Gordon Bowker and Paul Shipman had the vision to bring Seattle a better beer than the light yellow fizzy stuff that was widely available at the time. The two established Seattle's Redhook Ale Brewery by seizing upon the progressive energy of other pioneering Emerald City brands. From modest beginnings in an old transmission shop in the Ballard neighborhood to a former trolley car barn in Fremont, Redhook has always embodied the spirit of Seattle. After 39 years, Seattle’s Original Craft Brewery is still brewing fresh, innovative craft beers for the new generations of beer lovers.
