Petty Cash Taqueria & Bar

A San Diego native, Chef Walter Manzke grew up taking trips to Tijuana and has fond memories of eating tacos, drinking tequila, and wild music-filled nights in the legendary town just across the border from his own. His inspiration behind Petty Cash was borne out of these memories coupled with the desire to recreate those flavors, sights, and sounds in a way that others could enjoy. Petty Cash’s menu features Chef Walter’s interpretation of street food classics, utilizing the best available local, seasonal and sustainable ingredients, rooted in multi-generational tradition and technique. The equally-spirited bar program features unique craft cocktails and beer on draft, as well as a range of eclectic Mexican spirits curated by Bar Director Shawn Lickliter and Bar Manager Alain D’Castro. The name Petty Cash pays homage to Johnny Cash and Tom Petty, and the eponymous band that covers their hits. This nexus of nostalgia, food, and music is what forms the underpinnings of what has become one of Los Angeles’ most popular and beloved taquerias.
