Gene & Georgetti was founded in 1941 by Gene Michelotti and his partner Alfredo Federighi, who was nicknamed “Georgetti” after a famous Italian cyclist. Located in the heart of River North, Gene & Georgetti is Chicago’s oldest and one of its finest steakhouses. Partners Gene and “Georgetti” worked hand in hand to establish the reputation of excellence that is continued through today.

Effective 2.28.22: proof of vaccination & mask mandate lifted. The state of Illinois and city of Chicago have ended the mask mandate and proof of vaccine requirement for restaurant staff and customers as of 2/28/22. You may see some of our staff still in masks which is their choice, and we do encourage you to consider masking up in public places if that works for you. But as of 2/28/22 there will be no city or state requirements that we must currently enforce. We will continue to remain steadfast in our procedures and policies to ensure a safe, enjoyable and delicious experience for our guests. Just as we have since 1941.
