Madame Tussauds Ronaldo Statue Reveal

Madame Tussauds New York, partnering with VisitPortugal, tasked our team to produce an epic unveiling of a Cristiano Ronaldo wax statue in the center of Times Square days before the 2022 World Cup. As one of the greatest footballers of all time, Ronaldo was honored as the first athlete to accomplish a “Times Square Takeover.” Prior to the reveal, Ronaldo delivered a personal message to cheering fans across multiple synchronized video billboards spanning six blocks of Times Square. The crowd counted down alongside Ronaldo from the number 7 (his jersey number) to reveal the statue. The grand reveal featured a kabuki drop and pyrotechnics unveiling the statue of Ronaldo striking his iconic “Siuuu” celebration pose atop the stage. Following the unveiling, fans queued in line for a public photo op, posing and snapping selfies with the soccer legend’s wax statue.
