Having lost over six months of physical education in schools due to Covid-19, the Monster Kickabout was a week-long celebration of football launched by Sports Direct to get kids up and down the country playing football.
Over 3,000 primary and secondary schools took part, receiving kit packs and lesson plans designed to maximize participation, remove complexity and ensure as much fun and excitement was created regardless of ability levels or familiarity with football drills.
Four lucky schools (100 kids) were selected, based on their creativity and commitment, to take part in the ultimate pro football experience at St George’s Park football training facility - the home of their England heroes.
Robotproof partnered with football fan engagement specialists, Copa90, to deliver the event, which was jam-packed day full of football fun designed to give those attending the chance to live like an England star for a day moving through four key stations of activity:
PLAY LIKE A PROFESSIONAL: Trained and coached on the same pitches that our England heroes train on
KITTED LIKE A PRO: Stepping inside the changing rooms, sitting where the England team sit, and feeling what it’s like to be a pro
BEHIND THE SCENES: Discovering the secrets behind performing like a pro with a BTS tour, and a chance to test themselves against the England players
THE LAB: Discovering the future of football with a Nike expert, learning about the new technologies and innovations driving the game forward
