Museum of the Bible Grand Opening

The Museum of the Bible an innovative, educational experience inviting all people to engage with the impact of the Bible. Located in the heart of Washington, DC, the Museum of the Bible is a brand new, in-depth experience that combines history and narrative with state-of-the-art technology, bringing the Bible to life like never before. The entrance to the museum is flanked by two large bronze doors that recreate the first two pages of Genesis from the Gutenberg Bible—the book that brought the Bible to the masses thanks to Johann Gutenberg’s invention of the moveable type printing method. Using the bronze doors as a symbol for the grand opening, the doors were recreated on a small scale by embossing the actual artwork from Gutenberg Bible into bronze paper for guests to literally open. Letter T artwork from the 15th century was stamped with bronze foil, reminiscent of the illuminated letters that adorned early printed Bibles. The super thick invitation paper and envelopes have an antiqued cream hue, giving them an additional subtle nod to the past.
