Overview
From MCW EVENTS
Stream Aid was the Twitch version of a modern-day benefit show. This 12-hour marathon broadcast, produced by Twitch, reached across the globe, bringing the biggest Twitch talent and global superstars together to compete, stream, and perform as one. Twitch Rivals (a series of competitive events specially made for Twitch streamers and viewers) served as the glue that held the broadcast together. Participants competed across 3-4 tentpole game titles, and included an open call to their streamer community, athletes, artists, and global personalities who are already streaming or interested in gaming for a cause.
Between each competitive segment, Twitch hosted musical performances, celebrity call-ins and calls to action, to drive viewership and donations to the WHO COVID-19 Solidarity Fund. It was incredibly heartwarming and impactful bringing the world together to create awareness and raise money for those in need.
MCW Events was tapped to assist with the virtual white-glove experience and logistics. This included the pre-work of managing the list of entertainment, communications plan, run-of-show scheduling, and managing a virtual hospitality desk to triage technology and gaming questions. MCW managed the recording and distribution of the event’s Know Before You Go (KBYG), full pre-show rehearsal assistance, and full day-fun marathon support on Saturday, March 28th.
