Calling all event design wizards! I’m looking to create a networking lounge in a large hall for a conference in February in Austin. The client wants to create some separation between the lounge and the rest of the space but does NOT like hedge walls or pipe and drape. I have a few divider wall options, and have also talked about using plants (but for the size of the space we are going to need a LOT of plants) - has anyone used other things to act as space dividers/create separation in spaces?
i have seen use of large cubes w/ custom branding/colors, stacked in different configurations plus plants/other props sprinkled around. i will try to find an inspo photo
but the cubes are nice because they're foldable. so not super heavy/labor intensive from a set up and strike standpoint.
Along that same line, this is a fun and sustainable way you could divide up the room. They have a few different colors and we have used this for seating as well as walls. https://www.stretch-design.com/
Other option is using Tension fabric walls with framing like BeMatrix type setup. This is modular, you can brand the fabric prints and keep the framing to reuse for future events as well. https://bematrix.com/us/en-us
I have connections to a company that can do this modular type setup/prints if interested, just let me know!

Hey guys! I’m looking for smaller venues in LA for a corporate networking event. It’s an afternoon event with presentations followed by a cocktail hour. I think the capacity should be for 50-100 ppl. The client tends to like trendy, colorful and out of the ordinary venues rather than hotel conference rooms. In-House AV setup is a plus. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance! 😊

Hello, all! I'm looking for recommendations for a cool space in Los Angeles venue (Hollywood, WeHo, Culver City, DTLA, Mid-City) to host a networking reception (100-150 ppl). Preferably a venue has both indoor and outdoor space. The place that was used pre-pandemic is now closed so it would be great to find something similar. https://www.theparlorhollywood.com/

More SF & LA questions for you all!
1. SF: Need 2 locations for a roundtable of 20-25 people that will serve breakfast or lunch. Prefer a restaurant, but am def open to hotel or meeting venue. (April 15 & 16). (I found this SF thread from a few weeks ago, but I think we have a little more budget than Wendy!)
2. LA: Need 2 dinner locations for April 16 & 17, about 15pax each dinner. Looking in West Hollywood/Beverly Hills area for Tuesday & Santa Monica/West Side area for Wednesday. Something nice, and quiet enough that it will allow for conversation (business dinners with potential clients).

any ideas for fun group activities near LA Live/DTLA? working with a corporate group that historically loves bowling (already inquired with lucky strike) & karaoke, but would love to show them something unexpected if possible
LA question — does anyone know of any conference centers in LA that are good for events (with breakout space) — kind of like Convene in New York? I am not familiar w/ any, but I thought those of you who are LA based might have some ideas. Looking for some other venue ideas (beyond hotels) for a program that requires breakout space, in addition to general session + meals. Neuehouse’s breakout space is a little too small. Want to make sure I haven’t left any stones unturned.
Looking for an affordable florist for a dinner - part of a sales kick off in LA. The event is at the JW Marriott LA Live. Not a huge budget - $6K. Need centerpieces for the high boys (10-15) during the reception and about 50 dinner tables. Anyone have any favorites? The event is January 31. Thank you in advance!!
