Overview
A room framed by books, fireplaces, and expansive windows. The Gordon Reading Room is set away from the other private spaces making the space one of the most private. Part of the original 1894 Clubhouse, this room, the largest in the Club at that time, held the Reading Room/Library. In 1905 as part of the Club’s first expansion, the beautiful plaster ceiling and marble fireplaces were added. In 1941 it was converted to the Ladies Lounge when a portion of the Clubhouse was segregated into Ladies Quarters.
