Located in the heart of Downtown Oakland, the Rotunda has stood as the crown jewel of the East Bay since opening in 1912 as Kahn's Department Store. The multi-story Beaux-Arts building features original architectural details with a 125-foot-high glass dome ceiling gracing a 5K square foot atrium surrounding a gilded grand staircase. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Rotunda celebrates the architectural history and cultural heritage of Oakland.
