The hornabec is the set of defensive elements that separate the first and second enclosures of the Castle, and is made up of the glacis, a covered path, the revellí, the moat of Santa Elena and the semi bastions. The objective of this defensive structure, designed by Cermeño in 1751, was to prevent enemy troops from accessing the first enclosure in the event that they entered the second.
