The Weltmuseum Wien is one of the most important ethnological museums in the world. Emerging from the anthropological-ethnographic department of the Natural History Museum, the museum, founded in 1928, has been in the Corps de Logis in the Neue Burg ever since. The oldest items in the museum were collected in the early 16th century and came to the Imperial and Royal Court Collections via Ambras Castle in Tyrol.
