Overview

The Cupola Hall is the architectural highlight of the building and the powerful expression of imperial representation. The relief decorations presenting the emperors Maximilian I, Charles V, Rudolf II, Charles VI and Franz Joseph I and the archdukes Ferdinand (II), Albrecht (VII) and Leopold Wilhelm show the most distinguished patrons of the Habsburgs. The marble, the artificial marble and the stucco surfaces unfold their complete potential especially at night when they are festively lit. The wide, tall windows at the edge of the octagonal hall offer an impressive view at the Maria Theresien-Platz and complete the great ambiance.
