One of the three ceremonial portraits of Louis XIV painted by Hyancinthe Rigaud (the other two can be seen in the Louvre and Versailles) dominates this salon where every element evokes the era of the Sun King. The unique coffering on the ceiling (brought from the castle of Menjoux, in Savoie), the gloriously baroque fireplace (moved stone by stone from the castle of Hautefort, in the Dordogne), the portraits of Hortense Mancini, the King's protégée, and the Royal busts all contribute to make this room a living example of history.
