Thorvaldsens Museum
Hold your gala dinner or reception at Thorvaldsens Museum and give your guests an experience out of the ordinary.
Thorvaldsen's Museum opened on 18 September 1848 as Denmark's first public museum building. The museum was created for the world-renowned Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen (1770 -1844). In addition to the museum building's unique architecture, you can immerse yourself in Thorvaldsen's many sculptures and visit his rich collection of paintings and antique objects. Note that the museum's permanent painting collection is currently is not available due to our current special exhibition. A smaller selection of paintings can, however, be experienced in the last 3 rooms of the painting collection, as well as in the exhibition 'Works & Days' on the museum's lower floor.
