At 20,000 square feet Salt Mine is the largest coworking space in Utah with a fireplace and a bear head. (Don't worry, no bears were harmed) Reclaimed wood from the old train trestle across the Great Salt Lake still leaches out salt and adds flavor to the industrial steel design. Cozy work booths are lined with acoustic dampening gray flannel and provide a warm welcome to coworkers. Filament bulb lighting add warmth and a cool connection to the Salt Mine logo. The in-house coffee shop provides not only the best specialty coffees in Salt Lake (Publik and La Barba) but also a friendly connection hub. The space is designed for collaborative coworking, large events, private offices and conference rooms, complete with a ping-pong room and a quiet room named Solitude after a local ski resort. The team at Salt Mine re-purposed an old bowling alley and transformed it into an inspiring innovative workspace complete with a bowling alley conference table in homage to its past.
