With a square plan and two heights, the Cloister of Los Jerónimos has great historical significance as it is part of the Monastery of San Jerónimo el Real, founded by King Enrique IV. Rafael Moneo's expansion project conceived its rehabilitation as an integral part of the Prado Museum, maintaining its own character and respecting its exact original layout. It houses the sculptures that the Leoni made of the Habsburgs, as well as the Museum's painting and sculpture restoration workshops, all arranged around a spectacular skylight that allows the space to be used for homage events, dinners, cocktails, concerts or receptions.
