The Lounge

Linger a little longer in our Lounge, formerly the Guild’s dining room, where the club’s “noon rest” took place—a time in which members could pop in on their lunch break to relax with friends over soup, tea and coffee. Given that many fine restaurants at the time didn’t allow women to dine without a male companion, noon rest was a special perk for the ladies of the Guild—in the words of one Guild report, “a blessed little oasis in the rushing life of [a] business day.” Today, our Lounge is still a place for gathering, for taking a break and enjoying good company. Book the house and transform the lounge for a special dinner; book a room and wander down for a cup of coffee in a comfortable community space; or join us for scheduled fireside chats and other special events inside our own welcoming little oasis.
