SD Event Production

SD Event Production is a full-service, boutique event production company that specializes in live and virtual corporate meetings and events, weddings, social and nonprofit events, and celebrations of life. Owners Shannon McQuade and Dana Nitti met in 2016 while working at sister event production companies in San Diego, California, and immediately became friends, as they both shared a common passion for creating memorable events and a goal of one day starting our own event companies. When COVID-19 hit, and the event, tourism, and hospitality industries were paused, they took the opportunity to start thinking about venturing out on our own. While the country was on lockdown, they used the time to brainstorm ideas for the future, and SD Event Production and Celebration of Life Events was born! Shannon worked in public relations, before joining the events industry in 2012. Over the past decade, she rose through the ranks from coordinator to sales and event producer. Shannon is Cvent certified and a certified Wedding Coordinator through the New York Institute of Art & Design. Dana started her career as director of development for 13 years, where she oversaw the strategic fundraising plan that included special events, annual giving, grants, and capital campaigns. Dana has experience as a client services manager for a DMC, as well as an in-house meeting planner, and is a certified meeting professional (CMP) with 20 years of experience in event planning and management.
