Gary Erickson and Kit Crawford began their love of food and wine with cycling adventures through Italy where long days of cycling would end in leisurely evenings of good wine, food and hospitality.
As great lovers of food, wine and adventure, Gary and Kit sought to bring these memorable experiences to their Napa Valley home. Today, Clif Family winemaker, Laura Barrett, makes wines from grapes grown on our Howell Mountain estate and from local Napa Valley and Mendocino growers while Executive Chef John McConnell has created a selection of artisan food products that pair perfectly with our wines. Visit our Napa Valley Tasting Room and Bruschetteria Food Truck, for a curated wine and farm to table food experience. With a focus on sustainability, Clif Family wines are primarily made from organically grown grapes or sourced from growers with a focus on practices that care for the earth. Our mission is to craft unique, regional wine and foods using practices that care for the earth; to support growers who use sustainable, organic farming methods; and to contribute to a more vibrant and healthy food community. SUSTAINABLE FOOD & FARMING: All 90 acres of Clif Family estate vineyards and farm are certified organic and certified Napa Green, a “soil-to-bottle” sustainability program. 90% of the organic produce served at our Bruschetteria Food Truck comes from our Clif Family Organic Farm. We source certified organic ingredients for our line of specialty food products. SUPPORTING A HEALTHY CLIMATE: 100% of the electricity to power our business comes from renewable sources through our participation in MCE’s Deep Green program. ZERO WASTE Approximately 12,000 pounds of food waste for our Food Truck is composted back to the land each year. We are working to transition all our food products to recyclable or compostable packaging by 2025.
