Overview
From Markham
When the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation started planning the first annual presentation of results of their Networks for School Improvement portfolio grants, they turned to Markham to create a memorable and successful event. The goals were to share results, experiences, and lessons learned by the grantees after the first year of NSI, as well as bring together educators and partners to discuss improving outcomes for Black, Latino, and low-income middle and high school students. This daylong seminar brought together grantees, education influencers, and members of the media for panel discussions, TED-style talks, and Q&A sessions. Markham worked closely with the Foundation, managing everything from site selection, design, and set up to creating and producing assets to catering menu selection and decor. Our team made regular pre-advance trips to the venue in the weeks before the event to ensure all attendees and speakers would have a smooth, productive experience. Markham handled both the overall audio and visual production and day-of logistical details, like catering operations and stage management, so Foundation staff could focus solely on achieving their goals. Our team ensured every aspect, from hotel transportation and venue arrival to the post-plenary reception, ran effortlessly. Grantees were able to present their results in an engaging and meaningful way. This event was attended by over 300 individuals in the education field and live streamed for audiences everywhere.
