The celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Harry S. Truman scholarship foundation in the US Department of State. Three panels concentrated on Harry S. Truman and the past, present, and future of public service were held at the Dean Acheson Auditorium. The symposium’s topics were leadership and power in the mid-twentieth century, the state of public service and President Truman, and President Truman and the future of public service leadership.
The evening concluded with a reception where drinks and passed hors d’oeuvres were served, followed by a few words of the honorable Madeleine K. Albright, Secretary of State John Kerry, and Clifton Truman Daniel in the Benjamin Franklin room, where the program finished.
