The Conversation Truck started off as an organic response to the growing civil unrest prompted by the George Floyd tragedy. Like most companies, our experiential agency, RMNG wanted to speak out and take action in light of these events. However, we wanted to do more than just putting out a statement in support of the movement. We wanted to do something proactive and make real strides towards systemic change.
The Conversation truck was self-funded and activated in less than 72 hours. The goal was to provide a safe space where demonstrators could share their stories, feelings, and ideas for change. The Conversation Truck has been embraced by the Los Angeles community and is now a staple at protests and related events, becoming something of a symbol of the movement.
While our current focus has been Black Lives Matter, we have future plans to use the truck as a vehicle for dialogue and activism. We are currently exploring how the truck can help with voter registration for this coming election cycle. We look forward to finding opportunities in the years to come to use the Conversation Truck as a vehicle for change.
