Overview
From MKTG
MKTG worked with AT&T to introduce not one but two escape rooms that consumers experienced during SEC Championship, College Football Playoffs and the Final Four. Capitalizing on the trend of escape rooms, MKTG conceptualized and produced two unique rooms centered around college football and Scott Van Pelt while incorporating AT&T’s latest products to get devices in consumers hands. The rooms were rigged with a variety of technology including NFC, mobile app and augmented reality, all used to showcase AT&T products and services. The escape rooms created over 1.3 million impressions and 395k views from curated social content. Over 1,800 fans were given his unique free experience, and the chance to escape!
This program was so successful for football we completed reimagined the activation for the NCAA Basketball Final Four and took it up a notch. DirecTV Now and AT&T took over the 170' x 80' footprint to interact with consumers outside of just the escape rooms. The court was for consumers to shoot some hoops while also playing some games of HORSE, King of the Hill and skills challenges to win prizes. There was also a gaming court where consumers could try their schools in Pop-a-Shot and a custom Championship Dash game to win even more prizes.
The new escape rooms featured state of the art technology ranging from augmented reality and transparent LCD screens to a paper shredder and then shredded CBS Analyst Seth Davis’ bracket into the room for the experience.
