AAF ARIZONA HOTSHOTS TRIBUTE

I was blessed to be a part of the media team on the field at Sun Devils Stadium for a home game in the inaugural season of the AAF. This game was especially important because it represented a chance for the team and staff to honor their namesakes- the Granite Mountain Hotshots. The game began with a preshow dedicated to a Salute to Public Safety- all Public Safety Professionals in uniform or with ID were given free admission to the game Sunday and invited on the field for a salute, moment of silence, and presentation of the Color Guard and National Anthem. They were joined by the families of officers and firefighters who gave their lives serving God, Country, and Arizona for an emotional and touching reminder of how much we owe to the people who keep us safe every day. Halftime was dedicated to the Granite Mountain Hotshot Crew- and retirement of the number 19 jersey in honor of the fallen heroes.
