🪩 Space reccos in NYC
Planning an event for a client, October 18 in NYC and looking for a space for about 50-70 people.
Does anyone know someone who may have a space available?
Any particular neighborhood?
anywhere between midtown and downtown Manhattan. BK would be a bit of a stretch for this audience.
Sometime last year I was looking for the same thing so these are the venues we looked like (project was ultimately cancelled, so cannot speak to the experience at any of them!): Dear Irving on Hudson, Somewhere Nowhere, The Skylark Room, Nearly Ninth, Public Hotel (esp Bar Chrystie but they have three spaces), Jimmy's Soho, Bar Hugo, Peachy's, Spyglass Rooftop Bar
huge thank you.
a bit spenny but really beautiful option downtown - Manhatta
which one @EventPlanner645
Also Nearly Ninth now closed.
worst SEO ever - https://www.manhattarestaurant.com/private-events/
nearly ninth closed? wow, when i went on a site visit in march last year they hadn't even opened yet... too bad, it was cute
We are planning some private dining events in NYC and I'm curious if there are any hidden gems of event spaces or private dining rooms (Manhattan) that folks would recommend. Dinners will be about 25 people. We did the last one at Little Owl Townhouse and loved it!!
Hi all! Looking for recommendations for NYC rooftop venues that feel sexy and sleek with a "the place to be" vibe - but are not hotel rooftops (or at the very least, have a separate entrance to the venue vs the hotel); about 100-150 guests. Thanks!
Hi all! Has anyone done an event at Dear Irving on Hudson? My org turns 30 in 2024 and we are looking for a spectacular venue for a cocktail party to celebrate. Considering Manhatta, too, but founder has some concerns it is too far from Midtown. Open to other suggestions!!!
Hey everyone! I'm having the hardest time finding good non-hotel venues in NY for May for ~120 people (meet/feed). Any good and affordable recommendations?
Hi everyone, I’m looking for a private room at a bar (in Manhattan) to host an event for a non profit I’m part of.
Details:
Very low budget-like $1500 (food not necessary)
Approx 60-75 ppl.
Date tbd but tues-thurs
We'd likely do either open bar for an hour/drink tickets and then cash bar for remainder.
The non profit benefits a cause within the Jewish community, so bonus if owner of bar supports said community, as I may be able to negotiate a bit easier due to vested interest in potential support of non profit mission.
Thank you in advance for any leads!
Hi there! Looking for recs for a venue for a 300 person corporate party in October in NYC. We did 214 Lafayette last year but they will be under construction this year. Anyone know of somewhere unique in any of the downtown neighborhoods?
Hi! Does anyone know of any impressive private dining rooms for just 20 ppl in NYC? Its a bit smaller than I'm used to planning for and everything I'm thinking of is way too big. Thinking somewhere with great views (Columbus Circle, Hudson Yards) with an equally impressive dining room and F&B. Open to Brooklyn too.
Hey guys! I’m once again in search of a private dining room for 20 ppl in NYC (Preferably Manhattan). The client is super late with the booking and looking for a trendy, upscalish restaurant (it can be a classic too) to take their clients for a private executive dinner in early December. We have checked the availability and suggested:
-Locanda Verde
-Le Bernardin
-Manhatta
-Don Angie
-Cote
-Gramercy Tavern
-Morandi
-Avra Madison
Open to any ideas and suggestions so thanks in advance! 😊
What: Team Happy Hour
Where: Dear Irving on Hudson (NYC)
When: August 2023
Who: 60 team members
What went well: stunning space with spectacular skyline views. Roman, their events manager, is great to work with. Great food too.
For next time: it is located in the Times Square and I always worry about the hassle anyone has walking through there, but worth it!
Hello again, all! Has anyone done an event at Dear Irving in NY? We are sourcing a venue for my org's 30th anniversary cocktail reception and looking for something unique. Would love to hear thoughts. Keeping it close-ish to Midtown is a priority for this demographic. Thanks!
Hi! Any recs for a NYC bar (around Chelsea - Midtown) for a 150 person cocktail reception? Looking for upscale, warm, and private - in house AV is a plus!
Any high-end, NY lunch spot recommendations for 18 - 20 with a TV for a presentation? Hoping to stay within the Financial District and SOHO. The trifecta of location + AV + super nice really has me stumped. Thank you in advance!
Hi all. I'm looking for a vendor to help create non-floral centerpieces for an event in NYC. The centerpieces will be made out of toys which are donated after the event. thanks!
Hi everyone !! I’m hoping to find an exclusive and difficult to get into restaurant to host 15-20 clients in NYC. We’ve already done The Polo Bar. Any other recommendations? If you also have a similar style rec for Dallas, Ill take that too :). Thanks!
Has anyone used a live scribe in New York? I'm looking for something like Scriberia but based in New York / the states more broadly.
I’m working on putting together a template for the team to show to leadership with where we want to show up, investment level, type of event, past KPIs, and any other relevant information.. does anyone have recs on how to do this outside of excel? There’s nothing wrong with tried and true haha just want to see if I’m missing an opportunity to use something better if it’s out there :)
Any favorite suggestions for a great rooftop + great food for a work happy hour for #50 people?
Looking for a loft or residential style space (not a hotel) for a 15-person VIP dinner in NYC. Ideally SoHo/downtown. Must have a useable kitchen for private chef
<!here>, we're kicking off this channel to be a dedicated space to support one another as event tech continues to rapidly evolve. This post on LinkedIn inspired me to ask - are you willing to share your event tech stack with the group here? It might help inspire other members to look into new solutions, or ask for your more specific advice or opinion on tech you currently use. As a reminder, we also have the #ai-for-events channel for those interested.

what is everyone's go-to webinar platform? we are currently using demio but they don't integrate with linkedin live or twitter live. we don't need a super advance platform like hopin because we don't host virtual conferences, just monthly webinars.
hi everyone! Curious - who are your top AV vendors you work with in CA, and do you typically hire them direct or through a prod. agency?
Does anyone know NYC DOB permitting well or have any recs for people/companies that you’ve used for permitting needs in NYC? This is for a TPA and _maybe_ (but this is what I need to determine) an Alt 2 or Alt 3 permit.
