Learn about Southern California aviation history through full-size aircraft and artifacts from Santa Monica and around the world.
Now reopened and better than ever, the Museum of Flying features the very best in Southern California aviation history, and celebrates the proud legacy of the Douglas Aircraft Company once located on Santa Monica Airport, directly across the runway from where the Museum sits today. With 20 aircraft, five cockpit displays, and numerous interactive educational exhibits for children, the Museum of Flying offers a rich historical experience for our visitors. More than 200 artifacts from the Douglas Aircraft Company are exhibited throughout the facility, as well as historic aviation displays and 300 rare original vintage aircraft models. Hand-painted murals, bronze sculptures, and original artwork completes the collection. Additionally, the Museum is home to the prestigious California Aviation Hall of Fame.
