Named in 1925 for Nicholas Biddle, Class of 1900, House Committee and Building Committee Chairman and personal financial advisor to Vincent Astor, multi-millionaire heir to the Astor estate. After Biddle’s premature death, Astor paid for the room to be decorated and designed by well-known architect Charles A. Platt.
