The magnificent Great Hall is the main entrance to the Palace and stretches up 67 feet to the ceiling painted by James Thornhill. It provides an impressive dining space for events for up to 120 guests and acts as a starting point for private tours of the Palace. The Saloon is the State Dining Room in which the Marlborough family still celebrate special occasions and can seat up to 60 dining guests. The entire room was painted by Louis Laguerre, and the two fireplaces create a warm and intimate atmosphere ideal for a smaller party. Both the Great Hall and Saloon work perfectly together as adjoining spaces for dinner and drinks receptions, or they can be used separately for either type of celebration. In the summer months reception drinks can be enjoyed in the Water Terraces. Flanked by large fountains and ponds, guests can enjoy views of the Great Lake before sitting down to dinner.
