Frank Howard Field has been an integral part of Clemson Football for more than 40 years. It was named in honor of the beloved legend in 1974 and has since hosted tens of thousands of fans every season. With Coach Howard's significant contributions to the football program, it was an obvious choice to name the field after him. He served as Head Coach for over thirty years, leading his team to numerous bowl games and other accomplishments. As the stadium continues to grow, the field is meticulously maintained to provide the players with the best playing surface and to please the eyes of the 80,000 fans. Its impeccable upkeep adds to the overall admiration that Memorial Stadium consistently receives.
