The current decoration in the Coronation Chamber dates from Louis Philippe when he decided to turn Versailles into a national museum dedicated to “all the glories of France”. Entirely dedicated to Napoleon I, it houses The Coronation of Napoleon and the Crowning of Josephine at Notre-Dame-de-Paris, 2 December 1804 by Jacques Louis David.
